My Villain Origin Story

I didn't find my dream house.
I was outbid on my dream house,
along with 10+ other houses I put offers in on.
I'm talking $50k over asking plus ALL CASH offers.
With a 90-day deadline and all illusions of a
dream home dashed, I was desperate.
I found a house sold to me by a brand new realtor
who lied to my face and swore it wasn't a flip,
then ghosted me on closing day.
I bought it anyway.
Biggest mistake of my life.

Fresh off a cross-country move,
living on an air mattress in my sister's guest room,
surrounded by a newborn and a toddler,
in the middle of a Kansas City summer that felt like the
actual surface of the sun.
Within 60 days of closing, I got laid off and the AC died.
What followed was three years of shoveling snow, cleaning sewer lines,
waterproofing a basement, replacing windows,
floors, an HVAC, and insulation.
I poured every dollar, every weekend, and every ounce of stubbornness into this house until it became something I'm genuinely proud of.
Of course,
once it was finally perfect and
I had time and money for fun things like decor and Anthropologie lamps,
it was time for another unexpected move.
So now I'm living back in Colorado, and man, do I miss this back yard every single day!

This house is now actually ( finally) a first-time home buyer's dream house
This house deserves someone who will deal with a problem as soon as it starts, not wait for it to get worse and hope it magically goes away
and you get to be the person to skip the hard part and
go straight to the good stuff
like backyard homewarming bbqs and picking out fun paint for the bathroom and shopping for the perfect couch
Welcome home.
